Objectives of the heat action plan

• To better protect the population, especially risk groups, in the event of future heat events.
• To raise awareness among residents in the state of Bremen of the health effects of heat and to inform them about what they can do themselves to combat these effects.
• Improving health equity.
• Supporting public institutions and companies in preparing for heatwaves.

In order to achieve these objectives, a total of 26 measures are defined in the Heat Action Plan. The individual measures are implemented by various stakeholders within and outside Bremen’s municipal administrations. For each measure, the Heat Action Plan describes who is involved in the various measures and in what time frame implementation will follow.
